Enrolling and participating in our Youth Ambassadors STEAM Camp’s sessions is a streamlined and transparent process, ensuring convenience and clarity for both parents and campers:

1. Pre-camp Orientation: Accepted campers and their parents are invited for an orientation session. This is crucial for setting expectations, understanding camp rules, getting familiar with the campsite and staff, to learn about the camp, its activities, and the overnight experience, a great opportunity for parents and campers to ask questions and campers to get excited about the upcoming camp.  This session is typically the day before camp. 
2. Registration Portal: We have a user-friendly online registration portal on our website. Here, parents can access the application form, get details about camp dates, fees, and the documents required. This portal allows for direct communication between parents and Camp Administration. 
3. Application Review: Once the application is submitted with necessary medical, dietary, and other pertinent information, our team reviews it. We want to ensure that we're prepared to meet the specific needs of every camper before approving camper. 
4. Acceptance & Payment: Upon review and acceptance of the application, parents receive a confirmation email. This will have details on the payment process, which can be completed online or in-person.
5. Packing List & Guidelines: A detailed list is provided to parents with recommendations on what to pack for the overnight stay, including any STEAM-specific materials, personal essentials, and Bible study resources and what is recommended for day camp activities.
6. Check-in: On the first day of camp, a dedicated check-in points welcomes campers. Our staff and volunteers will assist with settling in for overnight camps and daily sign in for day campers, ensuring a smooth transition into the camp environment.
7. Parental Updates: During the camp, we understand parents might want updates. We set up periodic check-ins at parents’ request for day and overnight camps, sending pictures or brief reports to reassure parents about their child's well-being due to camps electronic free zones experience.
8. Check-out & Feedback: As the camp concludes, we organize a check-out process, ensuring a smooth handover of campers to their guardians. Parents are also encouraged to provide feedback on existing surveys, aiding in our continuous improvement. 
9. The whole process is designed to be as seamless as possible, with the child's safety and the parent's peace of mind at the forefront.

1. How old does my child have to be to attend camp? 

We accept campers aged 6-12 years old.

2. What should campers wear to camp? 

Campers must wear comfortable, casual clothes to participate in daily activities, knee-length shorts, or comfortable pants. During swimming the girls wear a one-piece swimsuit with swim shorts and boys wear swim shorts with top preferred. Shoes should be closed toe. On swimming days campers should come to camp wearing bathing suits under their clothes and bring a towel and a change of dry underwear.

3. What is the camper-to-staff ratio? 

There will be a 7:1 camper/staff ratio.

4. Do you provide scholarships? 

Scholarships are available on a first to apply bases. 

5. Does my camper get to go on field trips?

Yes

6. Do you provide transportation to and from the camp?

Getting your child to and from camp is the parents’ responsibility.

7. Is lunch provided?

Yes, lunch and snacks are provided for day campers. Overnight campers receive 3 meals and 2 snacks for each day of camp. 

(Any special diets or medical meal plans the parents must supply all food items for their camper.)

8. Does my camper need to attend the full week of camp?

Yes, it is important that all campers attend the full weeks of camp because the curriculum material is progressive, and all campers are reward on the last day of camp, Friday!

  The full registration fee must be paid regardless of the camper’s attendance.

 The health and safety of our youth and staff are of utmost importance to us.  These Covid-protocols are based on CDC and Florida Dept. of Public Health guidelines as of March 2024. The following Covid-19 guidelines will be followed:
Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)

• Face masks, in addition to gloves when applicable, will be worn by campers and staff at all times including indoors even when social distanced.
• Having a face mask at camp each day is the responsibility of the camper and staff members when required.

Enhanced Infection Control

• All staff and campers will wash hands upon entering the building, dining hall, and after bathroom use. 
• Hand sanitizer and handwashing stations will be available throughout the campsite for frequent hand sanitizing for staff and camper. 
• Equipment and supplies will be assigned to each camper group whenever possible. When this is not possible, for example with sports equipment, the equipment will be cleaned and sanitized between users.
• Campsite and equipment/supplies will be sanitized at the end of each camp day.
• Bathrooms will be sanitized after each use.
• Staff will avoid handling the campers' belongings. If the handling of campers’ belongings is needed, gloves will be worn.  If gloves are unavailable, staff should perform hand hygiene immediately before and after handling the campers' belongings.

Health Screening

• All campers and staff will have their temperature taken prior to the beginning of the camp day as part of the daily health screening. Anyone with a temperature of 100 or higher, will be sent home.
• If sent home staff and camper must be fever-free, without fever-reducing medication, and symptom-free for 72 hours prior to returning to camp. 
• All Staff and camp families should be aware of COVID-19 symptoms and should remain at home if they feel sick or have been exposed to someone who is sick.
• If a staff member or camper starts to feel sick while at camp s/he will immediately be separated from other campers and staff. Parents will be called to pick up the camper. Staff member will be sent home.
• If a staff member, camper, and/or their immediate family member/caregiver tests positive for COVID-19 all staff and campers will be contacted and required to self-quarantine for 7 days as recommended by CDC guidelines. If camper and staff are required to quarantine at home camp will be held virtually, if possible, for the camper. 

Camp Activities/Procedures

• All camp groups will include the number of camper/staff allowed per CDC and Florida Dept. of Health guidelines when required.
• Social distancing will be practiced during all activities when required.
• Staff and campers will remove masks only while eating and will be put back on promptly after they finish eating, when required.
• Campers Drop-off and Pick-Up:  There will be a short health screening and the camper's temperature will be taken at drop-off.
